Ed’s Professional Background
Ed is a founder and has been managing partner of SouthPointe Ventures since 2003.
Prior to SouthPointe, Ed was a partner at merchant banking firm EGL Holdings, Inc., and before joining EGL, was an operating partner for Prometheus Partners, an Atlanta-based leveraged buyout firm focused on acquiring QSR and recurring revenue service businesses.
Prior to his career in private equity, Ed spent 2 years as CFO for the 3rd-largest Wendy’s franchisee in the U.S. (62 locations in CA and TN at the time), and 4 years as CFO and VP of sales for a family-owned industrial equipment distribution and facility renovation business, with operations in 11 Southeastern US states. Ed started his career in commercial and leveraged lending with C&S Bank (now Bank of America) and First Union (now Wells Fargo).
Ed currently serves as Board Chair of Dr Roof and DoorKraft.
Ed has also been a member of the local and Global Board of Directors of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) from 2001-2021 and served as Atlanta chapter President in 2007-2008.

Ed graduated with a BBA degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame.
Ed is a graduate of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2010.

Joe’s Professional Background
Joe is a portfolio advisor assisting with SouthPointe Ventures’ portfolio operations.
Prior to joining SouthPointe, Joe was co-founder, Board member, and Chief Financial Officer of Zyston, LLC, a start-up cybersecurity services company that grew revenues by over 9x during its first three years of operation. He was responsible for the financial management, capital markets (including four internal capital raises), strategic planning, HR, and legal functions of the organization.
Previously, as Managing Director of Kayne Anderson’s Debt Platform, Joe formed a new middle market SBIC debt fund focused on investing in lower middle market companies with EBITDA under $10 million. Joe also ran the Atlanta office for Golub Capital, a credit-based asset manager, and invested over $600 million of capital in 31 companies, owned by 16 different private equity firms.
Prior to Golub, Mr. Longosz was Managing Director, Wachovia Emerging Companies Group, which provided capital to early-stage venture capital backed companies. Prior experience also includes senior executive positions at Bank of America Commercial Finance and Creditanstalt-Bankverein.
Joe was a Board member of the Atlanta chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and also served as VP of Strategic Planning. Joe was also a Board member of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies (NASBIC).
Joe’s Education
Joe earned a B.S. in finance and computer science from Boston College, and an M.B.A. in corporate and international finance from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School.
Joe has also been a guest instructor for Board governance courses at the Venture Capital Institute.

Amy joined SouthPointe as Executive Assistant and Office Manager in 2024 after most recently working in the non-profit sector as an Office and Box Office Manager at the Georgia Symphony Orchestra.

Amy graduated with a BS in International Affairs from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Amy’s Community Involvement
Amy is active in her local theatre community. She volunteers with the Cherokee Theatre Company making and coordinating costumes, and she participates as an usher with several other theatres.
When Amy’s Not at Work…
She is often spending time with friends playing trivia or going to see local theatre productions. When she is at home, she enjoys practicing new recipes in the kitchen, relaxing with her dog, and working on a new creative project.
